The best Hotel in Venice?

Well since I previously discussed where to get the best pizza slice in Venice I thought it was time to give some thought on where to stay in Venice. One of the best tips I heard lately was that the Bauer Palladio Hotel & Spa is one of the nicest hotels in the area. However, since this hotel is on the waterfront on the Giudecca across the Canale Della Giudecca from St. Mark’s square the prices are sure to be pretty steep especially for the waterfront rooms.

Myself I have stayed in the Westin Hotel and Regina on the Grand Canal and found the rooms and service to be outstanding although the price for the room was also quite high. One of my chief complaints about this hotel was that they offered a buffet but when you went to check out they asked you what you took and then charged you accordingly. Perhaps they do not fully understand the idea behind a buffet or rather what Americans think a buffet should be. However since that was my only complaint when I stayed there I found the hotel to be a shining example of excellent service and attention to detail.

So if you have stayed in any place particularly nasty or nice let me know about it! I want to hear from fellow travelers to Venice! Comments are welcome and they count!

Find a great price on a last minute trip!

It is always advisable to plan far ahead in order to save money when booking flights, hotels and car rentals. That is just common sense and how the industry is organized. However there are times when you need to leave at the last moment due to family illness, job responsibilities or you just want to get away for the weekend. I have stated previously on how to save money with airfaredig and using other websites. However I found yet another website to help you save some money. It is called lastminute.com believe it or not and this website specializes in finding deals on packages made at the last minute, hence the name.

Hopefully with these websites such as airfaredig.com and lastminute.com you can save some serious money on a last minute trip.

Leverage Priceline.com for your travels!

I am sure many of my readers are fully aware that priceline.com can offer huge savings for the buget traveler. However many are not fully aware of how to properly utilize this website in order to get the cheapest price that priceline.com will accept. Well it turns out there is another website called biddingfortravel.com whose sole purpose is to promote informed bidding using priceline.com travel deals.

So in order to get the best deal with priceline.com it would be advantageous to first check biddingfortravel.com to see what was the lowest accepted offer for a particular state or country. I will say that it would be a really great idea to make sure that you first familiarize yourself with biddingfortravel.com and priceline.com terms and conditions before attempting to make any bid.

Using both websites is a great way to potentially save some serious money on your next flight or hotel or even car rental for that matter. Hopefully this might just save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars over time.

Budget Globetrotting = A wealth of information!

In my surfing the web I come across many travel websites. Many of them are fairly good with some useful information, some of which I actually use. However once in a while you come across a great resource, a blog that just never disappoints. In this case I am talking about the Budget Globetrotting website. This website is geared towards the budget traveler with an emphasis on international travel and backpacking.

The demographics for this website seem to be geared towards the younger crowd and not necessarily for the older more seasoned traveler. That is not to say that those who are older will not find the information indispensable, rather it seems like the information is geared towards the college age student. Since the author of the blog is about to enter college this only make sense.

Since this blog was just accepted into the Trusted Travel Blogs Network I am assuming that this author can be trusted to give accurate information. Unbiased information from “non-evil” sources seems to be in demand these days. I can perfectly understand the motive to create a network of trusted travel blogs as there are many spammy blogs out on the web today hoping to cash in on the Adsense rush.

Hopefully you will find this blog to be just as great of a resource as I did.
