The immersion route you’re going with seems like the best possible way to learn a language, hopefully someday I’ll have the luxury to polish up my spanish in the same way.

…….as my grandfather would say instead of “good luck.”

It was his version of “knock on wood” instead of saying “good luck” which always brings bad luck.

Literally I suppose it means “Into the wolf’s mouth.”

Language. I love it.

Hello, I just stumbled upon your blog and I think it is great. I like your insight and observations on the city. There is a lot to be imersed in at Venice, especially the architecture. To me they have some of the most striking and beautiful buildings in the world, really love it. Make sure you take some time to go to the Museums there, such as the Museo Correr, and I am sure the Rialto bridge and Santa Maria della Salute will amaze you. Well have a wonderful time and remember to take plenty of pictures.

Appreciate the time you’ve taken to share the “Venice” information.
Sister and her boyfriend live in Swtzerland…Zurich and Lucerne.
She has lived their for just about 20 years now.
